Hail Mary a Thousand Times

Lying in my bed at night,
thoughts of fear and dread,
Can you see the demons on the wall or in my head.
Are they from my sin
or from demons that are within, oh mamma.
I will pray to Jesus to take the pain away
And say Hail Mary a thousand times,
to put my fears at bay.
I don’t understand why Jesus
won’t hold my hand, oh mamma.

Mamma do you know,
do you know the hell where my soul goes
Where my soul goes, mamma do you know.

All the things you told me, what I can and cannot do,
All the impossible hoops that you had me jump through,
All I have is sin, where do I begin, oh mamma.
I will pray to Jesus to take the pain away
And say Hail Mary a thousand times,
to put my fears at bay.
I asked God to enter me,
but the changes I could never see, oh mamma.

Mamma do you know,
do you know the hell where my soul goes
Where my soul goes, mamma do you know.

I don’t want this type of God,
I don’t want this type of sin,
I’ve seen enough of Hell,
In the places that I’ve been
In the places that I’ve been, oh mamma.

A thousand Hail Mary’s didn’t do it,
A thousand Hail Mary’s didn’t get me through it.
It’s all the same, it’s the devil’s game, oh mamma.

Mamma don’t you know,
someone made the hell where our souls go.
